The BCC Has Your Back!

The BCC Has Your Back! by Ashli Alexander

The BCC once again is looking out for all of us at Vanderbilt. If you need additional help with your essays,

final papers, or pre-med classes, the BCC now offers tutoring sessions every week, yoga, and more!

Here’s a breakdown of the weekly schedule:

The Writing Studio has appointments every Tuesday between 6pm and 8pm and every Thursday from

5pm to 8pm in the BCC’s Resource Room. These are 30-minute sessions that you can sign up for using

the weekly appointment calendar that is sent out to everyone by the BCC. They can help you with

essays, final papers, and general style questions.

Drop-In Tutoring for MATH 1200, 1300, and 2300; CHEM 1601; BSCI 1510; PHYS 1601 and 1602 also

occur weekly as well in the BCC’s Seminar Room. For the drop-in tutoring sessions, no appointment is

necessary. For MATH 1200, 1300, and 2300, the drop-in hours are on Tuesdays from 6pm to 8pm and

Thursdays from 4pm to 5pm. The hours for CHEM 1601 are Sundays, Mondays, and Wednesdays from

6pm to 8pm. The drop-in hours for BSCI 1510 are Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from

6pm to 8pm, and the hours for PHYS 1601 and 1602 are on Mondays from 8pm to 9pm.

On Wednesdays, the BCC offers a free lunch at 12pm. A different campus resource partner co-hosts the

event each week to aid students for their college and post-graduation lives. Some recent partners have

been Project SAFE, the Career Center, and the Center for Student Wellbeing.

The weekly yoga sessions are on Thursdays in the BCC’s Seminar Room from 6pm to 7pm. They’re led by

Ms. Jo-Jo Jackson, and she focuses on calm breathing and purposeful intention so that students

experience a “moving meditation.”

Don’t miss out on these great opportunities! The BCC is here to support us in all aspects of our

Vanderbilt lives, whether it be academics, mentoring, or mental health. Use these resources!
